CONSIDERATE CONSTRUCTING
It’s vital that cultural buildings that are open to visitors are easily accessible. Constructing or refurbishing such buildings brings particular challenges.  Often sites are confined and in built-up areas where public safety and disruption issues are key concerns.  

Around such sites, Considerate Constructing becomes essential, and even more so when working within occupied or in-use buildings. To this end, Mansell’s approach is to phase, fast-track, or stringently isolate construction work, enabling the remainder of a building’s continued and safe public use.  

Our pioneering use of specialist noise and vibration-reducing tools also minimises disturbance around site, allowing us to remain the ‘invisible’ contractor.  
 
COMMUNITY LIAISON
Obtaining community buy-in for the creation or re-purposing of public buildings is vital, and as a contractor, we actively participate in all such efforts.  

Whether speaking at public consultation events, hosting turf-cutting ceremonies, providing site-tours for local schools or public figures, or helping to co-ordinate and arrange local media coverage; we ensure we build public confidence and excitement around our projects wherever possible.  

In a further effort to integrate with and support the local community, we can assist the promotion of fundraising drives connected to the buildings in which we’re working.       

PROBLEM SOLVING
Each cultural building is unique and they often require a bespoke service with innovation built-in.  

We’ve created unique systems to lock out dust in order to isolate and protect irreplaceable items like museum exhibits and precious musical instruments which could not be relocated during our works. 

Access can be difficult, especially in older buildings, but we’ve successfully managed situations such as having to bring all our equipment and materials in through just one small window or up a narrow spiral staircase!  

The challenges of working in such environments are often great, but by sharing expertise with customers and our skilled supply chain, we develop watertight solutions for every dilemma, ensuring no corners are cut, and no risks go unmanaged.
