Pupils at Ambleside Primary School enjoy their new classrooms
In A Class Of Its Own - Ambleside Primary Opens
Following the completion of a £5.2 million construction programme by Mansell, the teachers and pupils of Ambleside Primary in Aspley moved into their state-of-the-art new school today, amid a flurry of excitement and anticipation.
Complete with under-floor heating, high-tech IT installations and CCTV, the new single-storey building has allowed the co-location of the previously segregated infant and junior schools.
“The new school is bright, airy, spacious, and we are all looking forward to settling in and making the most of these excellent facilities”, said Tim Jeffs, Head of the Junior School.
The school took Mansell just over a year to complete, and is the third they have completed in the region under a partnering arrangement with Nottingham City Council to enhance the area’s education facilities.
The new school was built on the site of the old William Crane School, which was demolished in 2006.
Ambleside Primary School pupils have been regularly involved and consulted in the construction of their new school, with Mansell running a ‘Design your Ideal School’ competition, as well as giving regular safety talks and updates to the children.
