The hard work and dedication shown by Mansell's North West team has been rewarded by winning the People for Places Award at the annual North West Regional Construction Awards.
Major Works Manager Steve Chapman said, “We are delighted to be part of the winning team and we were proud to be involved in the development”.
The new £7 million Lakeside Adventure Centre has brought an area of Crosby, Liverpool back to life. The complex boasts stateof-the-art water sports facilities which attract visitors from far and wide to enjoy this prime waterfront location.
Located adjacent to a salt water lagoon, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the works attracted high levels of interest from the public and achieved a Considerate Constructors Scheme score of 36.5 and a silver medal, with the auditor commenting that Mansell had put extensive measures in place to ensure public safety and minimise disruption to the nature spot.
Throughout the construction programme, which completed five weeks ahead of schedule, the site team worked closely with the local community to encourage public interest through regular neighbourhood meetings and engagement with the local school.
