June 01, 2010
Leicester Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) has awarded Mansell £8.1 million worth of work to design and construct two health centres in the city: Belgrave Health Centre, Brandon Street and De Montfort University Health Centre, Grassmere Street.
The new £4.8 million 2396 metres2 Belgrave Health Centre will provide integrated primary care services to a population of 30,000. The purpose built centre will house a number of GP practices as well as a pharmacist, district nurses and community matrons. Outpatient clinics will also visit the centre, enabling the local community to receive care closer to home.
The £3.3 million De Montfort University Health Centre will be three storeys high, with a gross internal floor area of 1478 metres2. It will provide high-quality health facilities to support an increased range of services including clinical accommodation and utility rooms.
With a contemporary design and state-of-the-art facilities the project will achieve a NEAT Excellent rating.
Both projects have just begun on site. De Monfort Health Centre will complete in May 2011 and Belgrave Health Centre will complete in July 2011.
